Terms and Conditions

Car Parking

  • Please arrive via Brueton Avenue and park at the back of the school. (Turn left after entering the grounds and head for the entrance gate at the side of the building and follow the yellow gravel driveway.)

Missing a lesson

  • If you cannot attend your planned lesson because of illness, holiday or a family gathering, we cannot issue a refund. (However, if your child has a long standing illness or has broken a bone, that would mean they miss a sizable chunk of lessons (5), please get in contact with the office. Proof of illness or surgery will be required and we will give advice of next steps.

Changing Areas

  • For child welfare and safety issues, children aged 8 years or over and adults are not allowed in the changing area of the opposite sex.
  • Cubicles are provided for private changing and NOT for the private storage of clothes. Please remove all personal belonging from the cubicle once changed.

Child Sickness

  • If your child has been ill, please leave 48 hours before returning them to swimming lessons.

Class Sizes

  • Swim England recommend no more than 12 swimmers to 1 teacher, for quality lessons they recommend 1 teacher to 8 pupils
  • We have a maximum of 8 (in the deep end ) and 6/7 in the lower levels. With the less able swimmers we often have an assistant as well, this is a great help to the teacher and the pupils; we do not, though, guarantee an assistant.

Communication

  • If you would like any information about your child’s lessons etc, then please do not hesitate in contacting us, this can be done in a variety of ways which I have outlined below:
    • Phone the office on 07768 371912. Lines open Mon – Fri 9am- 2pm
    • Email us – office@simplyswimmingltd.co.uk
  • We ask that you do not interrupt your child’s teacher on poolside, as their focus is on the children’s safety and on teaching the children.

Beginners

  • If your child normally wears discs, it would really help us if you could put these onto your child before the lesson starts. This can save a lot of time at the beginning of the lesson and then more time can be focussed on the lesson itself.

Footwear

  • We are incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful facilities and we very much want to keep them in tip top condition. To ensure this, ALL outdoor footwear must be removed before entering the changing rooms and poolside. May we therefore suggest bringing with you some flip-flops, sliders or crocs to wear if you’d rather not go barefooted.

Lesson Times

  • We always use the poolside clock as the reference to lesson times, which are 30 minutes long.

Personal Belongings

  • Please keep all personal belongings with you at all times. Simply Swimming cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.

Re-registration for the next term

  • To help us organise and operate a safe and efficient pool for the next term, we need to know which children are returning.
  • Re-enrolment emails start to go out 3 weeks before the end of the term allowing you sufficient time to ‘Top-up’ your account via the HomePortal. If preferred you can phone the office to make payment or pay via BACS.

Showers

  • Showers are available to rinse off ONLY after swimming. No shampoo or shower gels to be used. Please be aware of others and keep showering time to a minimum.

Swimming Attire

  • Please equip your child with suitable attire.Baggy long shorts make swimming harder as do tasselled costumes for girls.

    3. Facilities are provided by schools and other providers subject to availability. If facilities become unavailable due to equipment faults, lack of support resource, safety concerns or general closure, or if we are unable to provide the necessary teaching resource or equipment to operate safely then we will make our best endeavours to:
      • Notify all adult swimmers or a parent/guardian of young swimmers by email, for this purpose you are requested to supply the office with a valid email address
      • Update our web site to provide notice of closure or cancellation
      • Give reasonable notice of cancellation
    4. In the event that we are unable to offer an alternative lesson then we will credit your swimming account for any cancelled lessons.
    5. Once fees have paid for the term, your lesson has been booked for that said term.  If you are unable to make a lesson for whatever reason no refund will be given. Please seek advice for long standing illnesses or broken bones. However, if you decide to leave, we can put the booking on sale and once sold a refund of the balance will be made.
    6. In the event of a closure due to exceptional circumstances such as a pandemic, major structural failure, act of God etc, your paid fees will be credited to your swimming account and not refunded.
    7. We reserve the right to change lesson dates as necessary. Every attempt will be made to give adequate notice. Refunds or credits will only be given where the change results in the total number of lessons in the term being reduced.
    8. Re-registration takes place before the end of each term, for all continuing swimmers fees for the next term become due at re-registration and must be paid promptly. Failure to make payments when due will mean that a place will not be reserved and may be offered to a swimmer on the waiting list. New swimmers offered places as a result of vacancies must make payment before the start of term or, in the event of swimmers joining part way through a term, before the start of their first lesson.
    9. Payment may be made via the on-line system or by credit card or debit card.
    10. Once payment has been accepted for a course of lessons a place is allocated to the swimmer for that specific term and will not be made available to any other swimmer. No refunds or credits will be made for missed lessons in any circumstances, and the paid fee cannot roll over to any subsequent term.
    11. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. All parents/guardians and swimmers will be expected to display good and responsible behaviour in and around the pool, in changing rooms and elsewhere in the grounds and buildings where we operate, and to respect the schools and other premises we use. Failure to comply may result in exclusion from attending lessons.
    12. Maximum numbers for each session are set according to the type of lesson, the amount of available space and the number of teaching staff and assistants in attendance. Where classes are fully subscribed a waiting list will be used to allocate places as they become available.
    13. We will not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property or articles left unattended in or around the swimming pool, in changing rooms or elsewhere on the premises.
    14. These terms and conditions may be amended without notice.
